Let's Meet! How to meet with your advisor during the spring quarter

Hello! We hope you had a good weekend and are settling into a routine for the spring quarter.

We want to provide updated information about how to reach us. We miss meeting with you, and are available remotely to catch up on any questions you may have and to discuss your plans.

1. For short/brief questions, you're welcome to send your advisor an email.  We will reply to you as soon as time allows (typically within 1-3 working days).  PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR SID AND YOUR NAME in your email to help us pull up your student record and respond to you in a timely manner.

2. For more complex questions or advice type of discussions, we can meet remotely through Zoom

3. Availability: You can view our posted availability at My Advising.  We are offering 20 minute appointment options to select from, and you can schedule in advance or same day.

4. Accessing the Zoom meeting: Log in to My Advising and click on Enter Online Appointment.  Then wait for your advisor to start the Zoom appointment.
TIPS:

  • You can enter the Zoom appointment up to 5 minutes before the scheduled meeting time
  • If you realize that you will be more than a few minutes late for your Zoom meeting, please let your advisor know and reschedule the meeting for a more convenient time.
  • If you are experiencing challenges entering the meeting, please email your advisor right away so we can help troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
We understand this is a challenging time in many ways, and we want you to know that we are here for you.  As things change, such as timelines, policies, options, etc., we are doing our best to stay up to date to be able to provide guidance.

By contacting us, you are not bothering us!  We enjoy working with our students and even though the format has temporarily changed to a remote environment, we are no less committed to helping you in any way we can!

We appreciate your patience as we all navigate the changes, and wish you a lovely week.

Katie, Liz, Kia, Johanna, and Denise
