Fall 2019 Update! Changes to Major Change to Psychology - Important information!

Fall 2019 Update:
We have just been informed that the PSYC department is once again accepting major changes to PSYC.  If you are unsure if you meet the major change criteria, or have other questions, please contact your academic advisor.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Until this point, students wishing to change from their current major to a Psychology major were eligible if they met specific criteria (successful completion of PSYC 1, 2, and 11; 2 most recent quarters of good standing, etc.).  However, the Psychology department has notified us about a change affecting major changes to PSYC.
This information is important if you are contemplating a major change to PSYC, or are in progress of meeting the requirements.
  • Any student completing the change of major criteria by the end of summer will be allowed to change their major into Psychology.  (Be sure you reach out to the Psychology advisor for your alpha to schedule an appointment as soon as you're eligible to complete the major change, once spring or summer grades have posted!).
  • Students who have not met the eligibility requirements by the end of summer, will not be considered for a change of major at this time.
  • We do not have additional information at this time, but wanted to let you know about this development in case this affects your major change plans.  If you need guidance, please reach out to your advisor for assistance.
Best,
Katie, Kia, Johanna, and Denise
