Registration

Registration for the 18 spring quarter is almost here!  Please select the Registration tab when you view the Academic Calendar to see when your Time Ticket is viewable and other registration details.

Please see the tips below to make sure you don’t miss anything important, which could delay your registration holds being cleared.

  1. You must submit a term plan for 18S, listing the classes you propose to take.  Be sure to include:
a.    All classes you plan to take (include the Learning Community classes you’ll be taking)
b.    AT LEAST 12 units of classes (only listing 1 or 2 classes on your term plan will not be approved)
  1. You must name your term plan the name of the major you’re working toward, even if it’s in CHASS or BCOE, or your term plan will not be approved.  The name should look something like the following:
a.    “working toward BIOL”
b.    “PSYC major”
c.    If you submitted your term plan already without the proper naming, you can go back and edit it, or at least add a Note naming the major you’re working toward.  (This does not change you to the major you list, and you could change your mind in the future if you’re eligible for a different major, but this way we can make sure your proposed classes help you stay on track toward your desired major).
d.    Once your term plan has been approved by your advisor, please do not go in and make edits or add new term plans.

  1. Your term plan hold will not be cleared when you submit your term plan.  The hold will remain until your advisor reviews your term plan, approves it, then removes the hold.  (If you see that your term plan was approved but the hold was not removed, please contact your advisor so we can remove the hold, if that step was inadvertently missed).
  1. Remember, there is only Drop-In availability during the weeks of registration, no appointment availability.  And, you must submit a full term plan before you will be checked in to meet with your advisor. If you have questions about which classes to list, make your best guess and submit the term plan, then come in to meet with your advisor.
  1. Regularly monitor your UCR Email. If we find an issue with your term plan or have a recommendation, we will email you to let you know.

  1. Please keep in mind that the term planning process is designed to help you take the classes you need to declare the major you’re working toward, and to help you not take unnecessary classes which will not help you.  You are responsible for the classes you enroll in, the grades you earn, etc. to complete your degree.  However, the term planning process is a tool to help you stay on track.
